Video: Standamaran On-The-Water - Day 3
Here is a new video of me fly fishing for carp from my DIY stand up paddleboard. As a bonus you get to see a carp hand it to me at the end of the video. They carp are way back up in the trees in this lake due to high water and this one made it into the trees before I could stop it. That makes for tough landing percentages!

Never was able to pull up the video. But the craft is classic looking-great job!

Very interesting looking craft and adaptations, Trevor.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mr P. Do you stand up on your Kodiak?
DeleteI have an 8 1/2 Zodiac. It is outfitted perfectly for carp fishing. It is stable and quiet. I fish seated and standing.
DeleteAh, I finally pulled it up, cool small boat, (my Navy son would correct me on that,) it seems you have the basic mechanics down pat. Looks like doing 3 things at once many times.

Yeah, I like ship! It sure feels like doing three things at once.
DeleteReally great job ! Try to use the rod holder from Smith Creek to be ready at any time and facilitate your navigation.
ReplyDeleteDo you have any advise conCerning wet wading shoes ?
Thibault - I use Simms Rock-Hoppers. Love them!
DeletePretty Crafty man..Looks like all the hardwork is done. How about a leaning post? It will give centered stability and a place to quickly secure your pushpole and just let drag behind you or stake up when you spot a fish. A small travel stripping tub like the ones Sea Level Flyfishing makes on the deck in front of you will have your rod ready to go infront of you tangle free, Nice work!
ReplyDeleteI have a couple of holders / racks rigged up already. Honestly I just need to get some more shots before I can really figure out if it is rigged adequately. Lately the main water it is suited for has been way off.
